SOLO EXHIBITION OF NEW OIL PAINTINGS : 10 - 22 NOVEMBER 2014
8 Duke Street, St James's, London SW1Y 6BN
Preview on Wednesday 12th November 6pm - 9.30pm.
is open every day from 11am to 7pm
Update 3:
1st November 2014
I've completed work on all twentyfive paintings I'd planned for my Solo Exhibition. So a huge sigh of relief :)
The paintings are at the framers.
The catalogueis being printed.
Plans for the event are all coming together nicely and I'm getting quite excited about it all - only a week+ to go.
The gallery have put together a digital version of the show for their collectors abroad, who can't make it to the opening. If you're not able to make it to the opening or you'd like to get an Advance Preview via email just request one from Chippy at chippy@coatesandscarry.com. Paintings will be available from receipt of the digital catalogue.
Update 2:
21 September 2014
With only seven weeks to go to the exhibition opening, I'm starting to see the light at the
end of the tunnel.
I have painted twenty one new pieces for the show to date, with another four nearing
completion. They range in size from 24" x 24" upwards with some of my more panoramic
formats appearing again after being neglected for too long. There is also a large TrIptych
- "OBLIVIOUS" (3' high by 12' wide) - as the title pieces for the exhibition.
This show, titled "OBLIVIOUS", introduces a selection of pieces utilising fog and happenings
in nebulous backgrounds that create a more edgy feeling to my work. These pieces,
while more "edgy", sit extremely comfortably alongside the peaceful work that I've been
associated with over the past few years.
It's been a long and exciting journey and one that has challenged me and excited me in
equal measure.
I hope you'll be able to visit the show and see the toils of my labour for the past 20 months.
If you'd like to know anything else about the show or my art you can drop me a note
at art@njcox.com and I'll get back to you as soon as poss.

Update 1: August 2014
Since my last Solo Show in London in 2011 I've partnered up with contemporary curatorial duo
Coates & Scarry and have been exhibiting with them in group shows and art fairs around the world.
It has been a very exciting few years developing a wonderful and positive working relationship
with Chippy and Richard . . . two incredibly passionate art lovers . . . which surprisingly
enough, is not always the case with gallery owners.
My feet haven't touched the ground since we started working together.
I was delighted when, early last year, they proposed a solo show for me in Central London.
Initially Coates & Scarry wanted to have it early in 2014 but I needed more time to get a strong
body of work (20+ new paintings) together for a solo show. So . . .
The Striding Shadow | 48" x 48" | Oil on Linen
. . . the dates have now been finalised - the exhibition runs from the 10th to the 22nd
November 2014 . . . More details below.
If you'd like to be kept up to date with this and other events just click on the "UPDATES"
link below and I'll drop you a note as things progress.
Hope you'll be able to make it to the show.
